Even if you're rich,
Even if you're poor,
Every breath you breathe,
I'll be there for you.
Forming part of the prestigious Hope@PaulCluver Summer Concert series, this show is set to welcome 2016 with some serious rock ‘n roll action and a party to remember. The Parlotones are one of South Africa’s biggest success stories and remain loyal to their local fans despite their incredible achievements on the international music scene. Catch them live at the Paul Cluver amphitheatre on Saturday, 2 January 2016.
The group released their first album in 2005 and have subsequently launched another five albums, the latest of which is titled Stand Like Giants. They’ve won multiple SAMA awards over the course of their career, and their sound has developed from alternative rock to a symphony of genres including indie, rock and pop. They’ve toured with the likes of Coldplay, Starsailor, Snow Patrol and Blue October, and have been involved with a number of significant causes including the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital and Rhino Force.
Groupies can expect a fun night featuring the band’s greatest hits, all in support of an excellent beneficiary, the Thembalitsha Foundation. The amphitheatre is surrounded by sweet-smelling eucalyptus trees under a roof of stars, so not only is the music sublime but the setting is too. Remember to bring blankets, cushions and warm clothes to keep you cosy. Food and alcohol will be on sale at the venue, so please don’t bring your own drinks.
