Enjoy the last sunset of 2015 from atop our iconic landmark
Before you lose yourself in all-out raucous celebrations and over-the-top dinners on New Year’s Eve, take a relaxed trip up to the top of Cape Town’s beloved peak on a Table Mountain Cableway ride.
On Thursday, 31 December 2015, the cableway will operate on its regular schedule, with the last car riding up to the summit at 8pm and the final car departing for ground zero at 9pm. Patrons will have the unique opportunity to soak up the rays of the final sunset of the year from the top of this majestic mound. Perfectly positioned, the flat-topped mountain offers visitors panoramic vistas of Cape Town that reach from the harbour and Camps Bay all the way to the Tygerberg hills and Cape Flats.
While you may not be able to ring in the new year from the top, there is a certain amount of privilege attached to witnessing the Mother City’s final day turn to dusk from one of the world’s most famous natural landmarks.
Keep in mind that the sun sets after 8pm, so allow yourself enough time to make it to the top and find your idea of a perfect perch.

Tickets for this NYE event can be bought online via Webtickets.co.za (there is an option to select a date) or at the cableway ticket office. Return trip prices range from R100p/p to R240p/p, depending on age.
