The fading of the summer heat may mean the end of harvest season, but wine events are far from over. Toast to the cold this winter with Anthonij Rupert on Saturday, 27 May 2017 in a celebration of all things Shiraz.

Warm your bones, and your tastebuds, with an event that offers lovers of red wine the opportunity to taste award winning Shiraz from not just Anthonij Rupert, but from leading wine estates including Simonsig, Rust en Vrede, Waterford Estate and many more. These wine giants will be offering up the best in SA’s Shiraz world, and guests will have the opportunity to sample them all in the convenience of one locale!

Wine can indeed delight on its own, but it shouldn't have to. Food and wine go together like Romeo and Juliet, but with a much happier ending. In order to fully appreciate the flavours in the wine, food will be offered up in tandem. Not only will there be charcuterie (a selection of cold cooked meats), but also hearty winter favourites to really get your taste buds sizzling. The popular Olive Bar will be back to offer guests some of the most delicious olive products that they’ve ever experienced; olives go so well with wine, so prepare your tastebuds for a party!

The menu includes French onion soup with Gruyere croutons and homemade saucisson served with braised cannellini beans (amongst other delicious meals). These delectable dishes will be paired with Anthonij Rupert’s three top Shiraz wines, including the Protea Shiraz, and Anthonij Rupert Syrah and the Cape of Good Hope Riebeeksrivier Shiraz.
