First performed ten years ago, Harbour: the Kalk Bay Musical is back by invitation at the Kalk Bay Theatre. And, as an extra for those that have seen the show, this three week season will have an added tale to tell - some new developments have motivated Tommy to seek alternate income as it were!
This delightful, warm and amusing musical - which Die Burger described as “Lekker soos vars snoek” - presents a slice of life of Tommy the Kalk Bay fisherman, whose family have fished the local seas since before the railway line wound its way around the bay.
Seymour Howe's delicately written play of inter- woven stories about Tommy’s life leads the audience in a mystical journey from Kalk Bay to Devil's Peak, sharing his simple insights into life, laughter and loss with the two loves of his life, his faithful boat MARAAI KB683 and his not-so faithful "goose" Maraai.
Harbour: the Kalk Bay Musical is written and directed by Seymour Howe, performed by David Muller and all songs are written and performed by Bill Knight.
Original artwork, some created during the show, will be auctioned afterward for charity.
Preview night will be on the 3rd and 4th January at R70p/p | Opening Night is on the 5th January 2011.
No Performances on the 10th | 15th | 16th | 17th and 18th of January
