30 years of democracy, 10 ways to celebrate
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town with the whole family on Monday, 31 December 2012 at one of the Mother City’s premier five-star hotels, The Radisson Blu Waterfront.
Guests (and their children) are invited to bid farewell to 2012 with an ‘Out of this World’-themed party featuring a delectable five-course buffet-style meal, live entertainment and a welcoming dance floor. Not to mention, the Radisson Blu’s expansive seaside deck is a prime perch from which to watch the V&A Waterfront’s exquisite New Year’s Eve Fireworks display.
Executive chef Grant Kennedy and his team are preparing a sumptuous spread of mouth-watering dishes as part of this New Year’s Eve extravaganza. Stop off at the oyster and sushi station, or make your own salad using prime ingredients like parmesan shavings, roasted seed and nuts, biltong powder and a range of fresh herbs and veggies. Pick up some pastrami-cured salmon trout from the cold seafood menu or rosemary crusted roast beef off the charcuterie table. If you’re in the mood for something warmer, there are soups, broths and pastas in decadent sauces available.
Though, that’s just the beginning! Revellers can watch skilled hands toss and fry at the teppanyaki (a Japanese style of cooking) stir-fry station or can choose some of the finest meats and fish at the hot main station, from Dukkah lamb to aromatic duck and teriyaki salmon. What’s more, a range of delectable side dishes are set to accompany the mains, from fragrant oriental rice to steamed baby veggies with toasted pancetta and many more.
A decadent selection of mini pastries, tarts and desserts could possibly see loads of diners forsake their dinner and head straight for the dessert station. If you’re not much of a sweet tooth or still have some space to spare, tuck into a selection of local and international cheeses with tomato chutney, pickled onions and continental bread to end off a meal to remember.
Booking is essential, so be sure to contact the hotel to make your reservation.
