Moyo Kirstenbosch Winter Concert Series

A line-up of top-class live music performances sure to brighten up frosty winter weekends

The wet, wintery weather may lure many into a state of hibernation, but there’s no need to deprive yourself of good music and great times. Needless to say, Moyo Kirstenbosch’s Winter Concert Series, which runs from Saturday, 8 June to Saturday, 3 August 2013, comes highly recommended as a perfectly decent reason to dress up and venture out.

While sun-drenched memories of Kirstenbosch’s summertime concerts still linger in everyone’s mind, the cold weather shows at the famed garden’s Moyo restaurant are bound to find a special place in chilled hearts too. After all, what’s not to love about the prospect of a cosy atmosphere, warming winter food and, of course, top-notch entertainment from some of South Africa’s finest performers?

The African-themed eatery offers an intimate setting for the live music sessions, which feature a diverse range of local artists, from Three Tons of Fun and Dear Reader to Arno Carstens, Nomfusi Kwazibani and more. Not to mention, delicious dinners – the restaurant dishes up traditional African fare with a modern twist – can be ordered off the a la carte menu at patrons own account. Guests are treated to a complimentary welcome drink and appetizer on arrival, and once the bands start playing and the food starts coming, visitors will quickly forget that they didn’t want to leave the house in the first place.
