Michael Academy Golf Day

Enjoy a spot of golf and help a deserving charity in the process

Spend a day on a pristine golf course with three other golf enthusiasts at the Michael Academy Golf Day. This charity fundraiser takes place on Thursday, 1 December 2016 at the Durbanville Golf Club. Whether you have some business colleagues you’d like to challenge, or a friend group that enjoys a spot of the good game on the weekends, this charity event will be a great way to utilise the summer sunshine in Cape Town

There are 20 four ball teams taking part, with tee-off happening every seven minutes. The competition format will be 4BBB (four ball, better ball). This means that golfers play in groups of four (either as one four-person team or as two two-person teams), and each player hits their own ball. So there are four balls in play on each hole, but only one ball (the better ball, or low ball) counts per team per hole.

The Michael Academy is a non-profit organisation that aims to facilitate early learning for children with special needs in a loving, safe environment. The funds raised from the golf day will be used to build two departments; an Early Intervention Playschool and a Learning Centre for Special Needs, so take part and better the education for young kids in need.

Bookings for the golf day can be made by emailing Leanne Bezuidenhout at michaelacademyfundraising@gmail.com, or by phoning +27 (0)82 881 8801. Entry will cost R1800 per four ball team (so R450p/p) and that includes dinner. If you would like to sponsor a hole or advertise your business at the event, it will cost R800 per advert or hole.
