Farmhouse Rocks presents Freshlyground Live

This lively local band are joined by some impressive internationals!

Did you hear the news on the radio today?
People have agreed to give their love away
I can't wait to be there in line!
Politicians have agreed to honour and obey
They'll come down and listen to what the people say
I can't wait to be there in line, no no!

Freshlyground started enchanting ears in 2002 with their upbeat sound and their amazing vocal talent. These lekker locals will be taking the stage at the Cape Farmhouse Restaurant in Scarborough on Saturday, 7 January 2017 from 1:30pm.

The band is made up of seven insanely talented individuals hailing from our beloved country, Mozambique and Zimbabwe! Zolani Mahola has been showing off her pipes alongside Simon Attwell, Peter Cohen, Kyla-Rose Smith, Julio “Gugs” Sigauque, Josh Hawks and Seredeal “Shaggy” Scheepers. Their smash hits include ‘Doo Be Doo’, ‘Take Me to the Dance’, and of course ’Waka Waka’ which they collaborated with songstress Shakira! We aren’t sure about you, but listening to Waka Waka transports us straight back to 2010 when the eyes of the world were on Africa, and we showed them what we were made of!

They will be sharing the stage with The Native Young and touring UK artist Tom James. The Native Young are masters of Kasi pop, and they’re excited to show you how they like to party. Their hits include ‘Crystal Lion’, haven’t heard it? Have a little listen below:

Lastly, but certainly not least is Tom James (not Tom Jones as some of you might have read). This British indie-boy is currently touring SA and he is ready to unleash his powerful lyrics and emotive musical story telling. Get ready Scarborough, you haven’t heard music like this in a while!
