Bosman Release Celebration Weekend

Toast the launch of new vintages from this Wellington-based winery

The Bosman Wine Release Celebration Weekend swirls onto the social calendar from Saturday, 12 to Sunday, 13 November 2016 to pay homage to yet another successful year at Bosman Family Vineyards. The winery will unveil new vintages at this relaxed country event on the eighth-generation Bosman family estate, Lelienfontein in Wellington.

Hosted at the farm’s 260-year-old cellar, the down-to-earth food and wine affair offers connoisseurs and wine lovers the opportunity to be the first to taste meticulously produced reds and whites from the signature Bosman Family Vineyards range. There will also be the chance to participate in wine tasting theatre sessions, led by winemaker Corlea Fourie, and vine-grafting tutorials hosted by the skilled grafting staff of Lelienfontein Vine Growers.

Guests who would like to join the Bosman Family Wine Club, an elite group of connoisseurs, can enquire about membership requirements and privileges on the day. There will be a festive food market on the estate’s lush lawns with an array of options to ensure your stomach is lined. Kick back under the old oak trees and soak up the live music and jolly atmosphere while trained staff entertain your kids in the children’s play area.

This entertaining and informative wine theatre session allows patrons to taste this delicious grape varieties grown on the farm, with some international examples too, and booking is done on a first-come, first-served basis.

FOOD AND WINE STATIONS: What better accompaniment to wine than food? This weekend celebration of the grape will host an array of delicious dishes at various food stations. Each stall offers a different dish with wine recommendations. The idea is to enjoy the variety of options of food available along with a refreshing glass of premium wine.

VINE GRAFTING DISPLAY: As one of the leading vine nurseries, Lelienfontein Vine Growers at Bosman Family Vineyards produce more than 350 different types of grafting combinations per year of wine-, table- and raisin grape varieties. Learn more about the farm’s fascinating nursery and the little-known process of vine grafting – a horticultural technique used to cultivate high-quality and robust plants. A sought-after skill, grafting has been practised at the Lelienfontein farm since 1888.

KIDDIES PLAY AREA: While moms and dads enjoy the fruits of the vine, kiddies can enjoy an afternoon of great entertainment at the secure on-site play area. Trained staff from the wine farm’s crèche will keep the little ones smiling from ear to ear with a jumping castle and artistic activities. Not to mention, the young ones have their very own food station with yummy carnival treats like hotdogs, slush puppies and ice cream. Food items are priced individually.
