Every year, the Biker Charities Western Cape (BCWC) host a mass ride through the streets of Cape Town in support of those affected by cancer, and this year is somewhat special. It’s the 10th BCWC Cancer Run, and is set to take place on Sunday, 31 July 2016 from two venues – the Bikers Church in Brakenfell, and the Wynberg Sports Club. The two rides will end at the Freedom Riders MCC Clubhouse in Kensington at noon.
The yearly gathering brings bikers and avid motorcycle fans from across the province together in support of people who have been affected by cancer and to raise awareness and funds for the battle against the disease. At the finish venue, riders and families can participate in a variety of fundraising activities, such as the shavethon, an auction, potjie competition and club donation drive.
What’s more, you can expect loads of great prizes in return for your participation, such as a R10 000 cash prize and a small CC motorcycle up for grabs! If you’re not lucky enough to walk away with one of the prizes, you can still walk away with that great feeling of having been part of something good. Live music will keep the atmosphere festive throughout the afternoon, and you can snack on a range of tasty treats from one of the food stalls on hand.
TICKETS TO THE 2016 BCWC CANCER RUN IN CAPE TOWN
Tickets to the motorcycling event can be purchased at the gate on the day for R50p/p. The two rides will leave the starting points at 11:30am sharp, and converge at the final venue at 12pm. The festivities will continue at the final venue until 8pm.
