Win Tickets to SA Bierfest in Cape Town

Treat yourself and five friends to a Sunday at Cape Town’s Oktoberfest celebration

If the lederhosen fits, wear it. 

Or at least that’s what we would’ve liked you to do in order to win one of the two sets of six tickets we have to giveaway to Cape Town’s Sunday session (16 September 2012) of SA Bierfest, the annual Oktoberfest celebration that transforms the Newlands Village Green into an authentic Bavarian beer hall. 

Unfortunately, it seems a little overzealous to imagine that traditional Deutschland wear features in ordinary closets, and thus we’ve had to dream up a slightly different, and sadly, less embarrassing competition. 

In essence, follow the rules below and you could win six tickets (admission only), a prize valued at R510, to join the stein-guzzling, sauerkraut-eating masses prost with locally-crafted Bavarian malts and hops - Munich Dunkel, Krystal Weiss and Royal Bavaria – on Sunday, 16 September 2012

How to win 6 x tickets to SA Bierfest

• 1. Research a fun fact about Oktoberfest. The more outrageous, awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping your little gem of information is, the better your chances of winning. 
• 2. Tweet this pearler of a fun-fact to @CapeTownMag, and include the hashtag #SABierfest
• 3. Shamelessly persuade your friends to retweet you, as the more retweets you have, the more likely you are to walk away victorious (retweets must also most include the @CapeTownMag handle, so we can track entries).

We’ll announce winners at 10am on Thursday, 13 September 2012. Please note that tickets solely grant FREE admission into the festival. The purchase of crowns, the official SA Bierfest currency needed to buy food and drink, is for winners’ own account.
