Seduce your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day in Cape Town with a sumptuous dinner at the Atlantic Grill restaurant at the Waterfront’s Table Bay Hotel.
The stunning seaside eatery’s chef, Dallas Orr, has conjured up, a four-course gastronomic experience that’s nothing short of orgasmic; and what’s more, guests receive a glass of Graham Beck Brut upon arrival, a complimentary gift upon departure and local entertainment sets the soundtrack in between.
Not to mention, for those as infatuated with award-winning reds and whites as they are with their amour, there’s a wine pairing option that can be added to the dinner for an extra cost.
So, what’s on the menu this Valentine’s Day?
The courses read like chapters in a steamy romance novel. To begin, a Smokin’ starter of Smoked Tomato Consommé with Roasted Capsicum Hearts is followed by a Sharing is Caring second-course (a scintillating seafood dish of Sous-Vide Scallops, Prawns, House Smoked Trout and Baby Vegetables with Homemade Aioli). Love birds are then faced with a difficult choice for the third course: the Sweet Springbokkie offers an option of either the Juniper Springbok and Wild Mushroom Terrine with Port Espresso and Sprinkles of Chocolate-Dusted Beetroot or (for those who like it hot) the Peppered Bluefish with Confit Tomato and Fennel, Apple-chilli Dust and Chervil Beurre Blanc. Lastly, cleanse your palate with a range of local cheeses and homemade biscuits, preserves and a decadent champagne and rose pearls sorbet before diving into the fourth and final course, Sweet Interlude. Tuck into a scrumptious Strawberry Mirror Cake, Swan Puffs and Raspberry Leather (it’s a fruit roll up, nothing kinky), and end off the evening with friandises (small pastries and candies) and coffee.
Tickets for Valentine’s Day Dinner at the Table Bay Hotel
The four-course set menu costs R450p/p and includes bubbly, entertainment and a complimentary gift. For just R300 extra (R750p/p), diners will be treated to a wine pairing with their meal – a great addition for the connoisseur.
