Tulbagh Tourism describes its two-day Dutch Festival as "a Gezellig Feestje” for the whole family.

In April the town's Church Street with its beautiful Cape Dutch architecture hosts cultural activities, appetising 'spijs en drank' temptations and authentic treasures.

The Festival includes a traditional Dutch beer garden and a tulip exhibition at the Volksmuseum.

The Tulbagh Valley is abuzz with activities. Traditional Dutch and Cape Dutch delicacies are on offer. Visit the wine estates for wine tasting, entertainment and sample olives, cheese and chocolates.

Visit the farmers' market for organic vegetables, and home- baked goodies. Don’t miss the Dutch Courage Party on Saturday evening, or the street breakfast on the Sunday morning.

The restaurants will have a variety of Cape, Dutch and East Indian cuisine on their menus.

From Cape Town, head up the N1 to the Klapmuts turn-off and then towards Wellington along the R44, turn off just before Wellington towards Ceres/Hermon, Get to the Gouda/Porterville turnoff and carry on with the R46 into the valley.
