What are you doing this Mandela Day (Wednesday, 18 July 2012)?
Unanimously and officially adopted by the United Nations as an international day on November 2009, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela’s birthday (Madiba celebrates his 94th this year) has become a day on which we honour his 67 years of dedication to our country by giving 67 minutes of our time to a positive initiative in our communities. This movement has spread beyond our borders; now, individuals all over the world are encouraged to donate their time, their unwanted clothing and furniture, and their energy and skills.
You can take part by volunteering or just by saying thank you to people who do thankless jobs to keep the community safe.
