Unique things to do for Father’s Day
Stargazing tour, racing simulators, vineyard lunches + more
Unsolved Mysteries and Savoy Cabbage, one of Cape Town’s premier restaurants, have teamed up this Halloween to present the Necromancers Ball, a murder mystery-themed culinary affair, on Friday, 26 October 2012.
Those brave enough to attend will sit down to a three-course cloak and dagger dinner based in a fantasy world of intrigue, covert societies and ancient mysteries. While guests sip on cocktails and snack on hors d’oeuvres, a storyline unfolds; suddenly, a character is murdered (in the make-believe plot, no patrons are harmed during the course of the dinner) and it’s up to the diners to help solve the heinous crime.
The Necromancers Ball Storyline
Set in modern day New York, the murder mystery revolves around the virtuous Big Apple citizens who aren’t quite what they seem: they’re immortal.
It’s Christian Black’s annual Halloween Ball. The rich and famous come together to flaunt their fame, fortune and fantastic lifestyles, but unbeknownst to them, the Council of Immortals is also holding court. While party guests are revelling in their each other’s – and mostly their own – success, something sinister is happening behind the scenes. Gabriel Young, a key member of the organisation, is murdered with an extremely rare substance called Qeres, an ancient Egyptian toxin used in the mummification process. .
Everyone’s a suspect, including your character, and the powers that be call on you to attempt to solve this atrocious crime, a crime that threatens to topple the fragile balance of the human and immortal co-existence.
Up for the challenge? If so, take part in this coveted Halloween affair for only R325p/p, tickets include a three-course dinner, a mystery to solve and buckets of ghoulish fun.
Book your spot with Inspector Keyser by calling +27 (0) 84 993 8040 or by emailing lente@bepartofthemystery.com before 19 October 2012.
