Andrew Fanton will speak to “Project Managing a 2010 Legacy”, addressing the many aspects of being ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of Cape Town’s 2010 World Cup Stadium - a mammoth project on which the world’s eyes are turned.
He will also speak about the legacy, the Murray & Roberts/WBHO Joint Venture plans to leave for the construction industry, post-2010.
“We will host these talks twice a month”, says Director of the Visitor Centre, Silvana Dantu. She and her team conceptualized the exciting lecture series. “Each talk will include a guided tour of the stadium construction site so that guests have a total experience of our spectacular 2010 stadium.”
“All the lectures will be by equally interesting and passionate experts who are integrally involved in the planning and implementation of national projects towards 2010. Their views are of special interest to the public.”
The second lecture in the series will be on 13 August. Lead architect of the 2010 Green Point Stadium Project, GMP Architekten Germany.
Project Manager, Robert Hormes, will present an informative and accessible lecture on the design, construction and future use of the 2010 Stadium as well as some background information on GMP’s work globally.
