8 May 2007 - 11 May 2007
This vibrant, well-organised Festival takes place annually in the heart of the Waterfront. Visitors can, in one evening, at a single, secure and convenient venue, tour all the major wine routes of the Western Cape!
The Cape Times V&A Waterfront Wine Festival - now in its 15th year - represents the entire spectrum of Cape wine producers, from top-notch estates to superb boutique wineries. This year, the Festival is hosting more than 75 of the Cape's finest wineries, including leading producers like: Boplaas, De Wetshof, Diemersfontein, Groote Post, Kaapzicht, Jean Daneel, Klein Constantia, Môreson, Steenberg, Villiera and Warwick.
To further enhance this special wine experience, there will be a wide variety of gourmet delicacies to enjoy with the wines. Wineries will be offering delicious pairings of wine and food. Guests will also be able to taste and/or buy boutique cheeses, oysters, sushi, Thai noodles, organic products, olive oils, pestos, sauces, dressings, condiments, chocolates, nougat and much more.
Perhaps the most memorable feature of this Festival is its intimate and friendly ambience. After an enjoyable tasting, wine lovers can pop out of the marquee and have a bite to eat at any of the many Waterfront restaurants which are conveniently located within strolling distance, some of which will be offering special Wine Festival dinners over the period.
The 15th Cape Times V&A Waterfront Wine Festival
When: Tuesday 8 May to Friday 11 May 2007; 5-9pm
Where: Market Square, V & A Waterfront (In front of Vaughan Johnson's Wine Shop)
Tickets: R65 per ticket. Includes wine, cheese and deli tastings, a Festival glass and a programme of the wines & foods on show. Specialised food items, and wine for post-festival delivery, will be available for purchase.
Molo Says: "Find things to do in South Africa's winelands in our things to do section, or read more about the Cape Winelands of Constantia, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.
"Our Travel Team offers excellent travel specials for the winelands. There is much to be discovered, for example, our selected, quality Cheese & Wine Tour, which I highly recommend."
