Café Caprice in Camps Bay has for long been a favorite café / club in Camps Bay for Molo and the CapeTownMagazine.com team.
David and his team always manage to stay that lazy chilled out place with the largest collection of D&G sunglasses in the world. Sundays at Caprice must have become the best thing to do in Cape Town on a Sunday night for those in need of a full monty clubbing weekend.
Now Cafe Caprice has once again organised something special: Richard Dorfmeister, one night only, invite only, At Caprice only. Read more to find out how to be part of this exclusive night out in Cape Town.
Kruder & Dorfmeister’s (K & D) self financed, produced & released debut – “G-Stoned EP” was expected (happily) by the duo to sell around 1000 copies but has landed up in the hands of well over 100 000 buying customers and this was just the start of what was to come.
A mixed Dj compilation for K7’s DJ Kicks series followed. A seamless selection of beats encompassing many styles of music that would define the genre of “Trip Hop” established K & D’s worldwide reputation, particularly amongst fellow artists who desired the don’s style & sound infused with their own.
The next few years were spent fielding & completing requests from musicians to remix their music. Diverse artists like Roni Size, Depeche Mode, Madonna & Bone Thugs & Harmony (to name but a few) all clambered to get K & D to twist & redefine their music.
This eventually resulted in the 1998 release of a collection of these remixes. “Kruder & Dorfmeister: The K& D sessions” has become a classic, Austria’s biggest export since Arnie and an absolute lifestyle item for anyone who has ever returned home from a night of clubbing & partying. Quoted as being the “Hotel California” of our generation everyone has it at home.
Countless remixes, touring the world as Dj’s & live musicians have followed as well as two major side projects: Peter Kruder as “Peace Orchestra” & Richard Dorfmeister as one half of “Tosca”. Tosca have released 9 albums and have appeared on hundreds of compilations (look through your collection)
Café Caprice in association with Urban Wave are proud to host, for one night only on April 4 2008 the legend himself for an exclusive Dj Set!! CapeTownMagazine.com happily brings you the details.
Those wanting to attend must register on www.urbanwave.co.za to hope to be invited to this very special & unique occasion.
