Moyo Kirstenbosch Winter Concert Series
A line-up of top-class live music performances sure to brighten up frosty ...
Get your drinking glasses ready and mark your calendar, Cape Town’s annual Pinotage pilgrimage - Pinotage on Tap - returns to Diemersfontein Wine Estate on Saturday, 13 October 2013. Often referred to as the best party on the winelands calendar, this event has grown from small potatoes to a massive and much-anticipated day of fun in the sun.
For those Pinotage aficiandos who also happen to be POT (the festival’s acronym) virgins, you can rest assured that you won’t regret your ticket purchase. Here’s a run-down of how it works and what you can expect.
What to expect from 2013 Pinotage on Tap
As always, first and foremost Pinotage on Tap marks the celebration of the newest Diemersfontein Pinotage vintage. Thus above all else, festival-goers can look forward to no less than eight, seemingly bottomless, oak barrels prepped and prime for the drinking. There’s also usually at least one or two barrels of a white wine, as well.
Apart from the free-flowing wine, a snack pack and canapés, a number of meals are available throughout the day, as are plenty of games and live musical entertainment.
Music Line-up for the 2013 Pinotage on Tap
How it works
Your ticket includes access to the festival bottomless Pinotage, canapés and lunch. Barrels of wine will be stationed in every nook and cranny, and be sure to watch out for the dessert table, with chocolate fondues, marshmallows, strawberries and meringues (also included in ticket price). If you’re still feeling a tad peckish after the substantial lunch on offer, there will be other food stalls available.
Tickets for the 2013 Pinotage on Tap
Tickets are available via Computicket.com and go on sale Monday, 10 June 2013; tickets cost R340p/p (no kiddie tickets are available) and VIP tickets (inlcudes a case of six bottles Diemersfontein Pinotage and an original POT Peak Cap) cost R770p/p. Book early as numbers will be strictly limited. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and doors open at 12h30. There are no ATMs on site but card facilities are available.
Weekend accommodation specials are available. For more information or to book, contact Rene at +27 (0) 21 864 5050 or email online@diemersfontein.co.za.
