This popular one-day festival has thousands of visitors streaming in every year for a festival like no other. With it's diverse crowd displaying the many facets and quirks of Cape culture, Observatory becomes the melting pot for young and old during the Mother City's official first month of summer.

Attracted by its laid back charm and great entertainment line-up, this is a fun day out for all the family that boasts a great community atmosphere. The festival features live music, comedy acts, street theatre, a handicrafts market and numerous food and drink stalls.

Many of Observatory's bars and restaurants also join in the communal spirit by hosting special parties to help celebrate the event.
