Canadian-born blues singer croons in Durbanville

The incredibly talented Natasha Meister and her band are returning to Die Boer in Durbanville – just 20 minutes from Cape Town –to perform in concert on Friday, 17 August 2012.

Born in Canada, Natasha returned to her ancestral South African home a few years ago, and now, at the tender age of 20, her sultry, thick Motown voice and her songwriting and guitar skills are making waves in the music industry.

Though, having performed with music powerhouses like Ross Learmoth from Prime Circle, Ard Matthews from Just Jinger, Theo Crous from Springbok Nude Girls), Albert Frost and Dan Patlansky, it comes as no surprise that this young lady is making a name for herself as one of SA’s greats.

These days, having teamed up with drummer Paul Tizzard and bassist Roger Bashew, Natasha and her fellow musicians are bringing SA a unique brand of pop, rock, country, soul with a hint of blues- style.

Mothercity Mojo, an eccentric, but talented blues band led by well-seasoned musos Jonny Blundell, Roger Bashew and Jamie Jupiter, will open the evening to strum up some vibe for this collaborative musical extravaganza.
