Following the 2012 launch of Mavericks Revue Bar’s sexy line of lingerie, the notorious Cape Town gentlemen’s club is bolstering their seductive evening entertainment with a cabaret lingerie show six nights a week (Monday night to Saturday night).
Dancers dressed (sorry, boys) as angels, devils, bunny girls, cat women and even shrews from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ will show off sheer chemises, elegant peek-a-boo numbers, eye-catching embroidered teddies and a few more daring (read leather, chains and role-playing outfits) examples of, ahem, evening wear on one of the five Mavericks stages.
What’s more, starting Thursday nights, the saucy showcase will get even more exotic; extra special ‘Cabaret Fantasy Shows’ have been choreographed to complement the display of sordid intimates and kinky bedroom get-ups.
We’ll leave you to imagine the profound plot lines and complex character juxtapositions, but, according to Vanessa, the performance’s choreographer, club goers are in for a treat, as well as an opportunity to stake out some lingerie for the ladies in their life.
“We go to great lengths to source the best costumes and lingerie for our dancers, and we have many enquiries from customers as to where they can buy the items. This is a perfect opportunity to promote the lingerie and to put on a highly entertaining show for the customers at the same time,” said the brains behind the late-night charade.
The nightly lingerie shows, including the Thursday, Friday and Saturday night ‘Cabaret Fantasy Shows’, take place at 11:30pm, after the ‘Big Spenders’ parade.
Aside from these main events, dancing is scheduled throughout the evening and food is available throughout the night, with a menu including sharing platters, some of Cape Town’s best sushi, and succulent steaks.
Entrance to the club is R100 for gentlemen and R50 for ladies, with drink prices comparable to that of most Cape Town bars.
