26 July 2008

Community projects and other organic producers will uplift the community with Cape Town’s newest addition to its popular market culture, the second Joy Market on 26 July which is hosted by Love Project gift shop.
The shop and market day on Kloof Street is situated in the Dutch Reformed Church Centre and is operated in close relation with various non-profit organizations who sell their products there.
The Joy market will give you a chance to meet the people making a difference and support them in various ways.
There will be many similar Joy market days throughout the year. Our Editor’s Picks Newsletter will feature all the details.
Set dates are 6 September, 4 October, 1 November, and 6 December, there will also be a special weeklong Christmas market in November, just in time for all the Christmas shopping.
Make a nice Saturday day of it, bring the kids and enjoy a lunch at Deli55-restaurant which is also located in the Church Centre. The whole family can enjoy themselves and the kids will have plenty to do.
There will be a canned food drive together with Feedback Food Redistribution and Love Project and they invite everyone to help collect food and bring it along to the event.
Certainly on our list of things to do list this Saturday in Cape Town.
Dates: 26 July, 6 Sep, 4 Oct, 1 Nov and 6 Dec
Location: 55 Kloof Street, Cape Town
Time: 09:00 – 15:00

Molo says: “Interested in other markets in Cape Town? Cape Town offers an excellent array of different markets in the weekends, the craft market at the Greenpoint Stadium, the vibey Neighbourhood Goods Market at the old biscuit mill in Woodstock, and the Salt River vegetable market. Of course there is the daily market on Greenmarket Square.
Other weekly markets just outside Cape Town include the quirky Milnerton market on the R27, the nice and fresh Stellenbosch slow food market.
For more updates and introductions to new daily and weekend markets in and around Cape Town subscribe to our Editor’s Picks Newsletter. Read more about cultural things to do or places to go for lunch on the weekends in Cape Town".
