08 February 2008

On Friday evening, 8 February 2008 the 'Kids with HIV Foundation' will proudly present the internationally renowned Jonny Cooper Orchestra at the spectacular Spier Amphitheatre.
This charity event — made possible by Jonny Cooper and Spier — will be used to raise much-needed funding and awareness for the' Kids with HIV Foundation' and the children, families and communities they care for.
Playing to full houses across South Africa, the Jonny Cooper Orchestra recreates the romantic era of the world's most famous Swing Bands. Consisting of four Trumpets, four Trombones, five Saxes, Piano, Double Bass, Drums and Vocalists the orchestra replicates the 1938 civilian orchestra of Glenn Miller.
Spier has kindly donated the use of their amphitheatre for the evening, while Jonny Cooper and his orchestra as well as their sponsors have dramatically reduced their fee for the evening’s performance.
This ensures that the profits made from the Jonny Cooper Orchestra charity concert go directly towards stemming the devastating tide of HIV/Aids on the children of South Africa.
Since its establishment in January 1999 the Kids with HIV Foundation has taken care of some 42 000 children across South Africa — the majority of whom are affected directly by HIV and Aids.
