Hout Bay is launching the new Seafood Festival and Snoek Derby to become the best seafood destination in Cape Town and South Africa.
The Snoek Derby in Hout Bay is promising to be one of the best family event on Cape Town's Peninsula event calendar.
From Thursday 9th August (Woman’s Day in South Africa ) until Sunday 12th August, Hout Bay will come alive to celebrate the annual Seafood Festival and Snoek Derby.
The Hout Bay Seafood Festival party starts on Woman’s Day with the best local entertainment, culture and food, set in the beautiful fishing village of Hout Bay. There will be Snoek braais, a food court and a beer garden with live entertainment. To celebrate Woman’s Day, the ladies of the Hout Bay fishing industry will showcase the unique skill of fish flekking so reflective of the image of Hout Bay.
Restaurants in Hout Bay will put forward their signature seafood dishes to tempt patrons to their restaurants with a seafood restaurant route. There will be plenty of fun things to do with kids including a fun fair, a kids play area, face painting and other entertainment. Older kids will be able let rip at the Sentinel skate park.
The main event will be The Snoek Derby on Saturday the 12th of August. 80 boats are expected to enter this year and over 5000 supporters and spectators are anticipated in The Hout Bay Harbour.
The Hout Bay Seafood Festival & Snoek Derby will be 4 days of fun filled activities in Hout Bay. Join us.
