Dragon Power – a South African Muaythai association – is to present the biggest contact tournament that Cape Town and South Africa have ever seen.

Following the success of Contender Asia, the biggest Muaythai reality show to date, with over 400 million viewers, Hands Up African Contender is set to significantly raise the bar of Muaythai events in South Africa.

Featuring SA title fights, MMA fights, and two top Thai fighters participating in the African Contender, this tournament will enjoy international television exposure.

Sponsored by Grandslots, the opening summer festival will be at Ratanga Junction with a big screen, amazing lighting and seating for 5,000 people.

On the night of 8 November there will be performances from South African bands The Dirty Skirts and Zebra & Giraffe, as well as hip hop DJ Solar Star and one of the country’s most renowned breakdancing and beatboxing acts, Local is Lekker. Comedian Cokey Falkow will be the MC for the evening.
