Greenpops Cool as Folk Concert at The Assembly

Join the treevolution and celebrate Greenpop’s second birthday with some of Cape Town’s best folk artists

Greenpop’s annual Cool as Folk Concert at The Assembly returns (Saturday, 8 September 2012), just in time to celebrate both spring and the lean, green, tree-planting machine’s second birthday.

Hot of the heels of their massive Trees for Zambia project, a month-long planting spree that saw them put down roots (over 5000 tree roots, more specifically) in and around Livingstone, Greenpop is now hosting an amazing night of live music, rockin’s DJ and much much more.

In just 24 months, the social enterprise, which is devoted to urban greening and reforestation, has planted more than 12,000 trees, benefitting nearly 100,000 people. Started in September 2010, Greenpop plants trees at schools, in communities and in deforested areas in an effort to raise environmental awareness and combat climate change. Besides the positive effect tree planting has on our carbon footprint, it also has a huge social benefit, bringing different cultures, races, creeds and ages together for a common goal.

Get to Cool as Folk early for the Trees for Zambia Presentation, and see how just how far this treevolution is spreading.
