Grape Day Out by Stellenbosch Wine Festival
A day of wine, fashion and entertainment in the Boland
High fashion, heels and a hipster attitude are the main ingredients behind the inaugural Grape Day Out event – presented by the Stellenbosch Wine Festival – taking place at the Woodmill in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 4 August 2012.
Targeted mainly at students and young professionals – not forgetting the young at heart - this event – the first of its kind - is set to take you from wine barrel to catwalk in one fell swoop.
Wine tastings are free and available from 11am to 3pm - with Beyerskloof, Lanzerac, Morgenhof, Neil Ellis Wines and Villiera Wines to name but a few of the top wineries - and a cash bar is available throughout the day for those thirsty for something else. Not to mention, for the slightly peckish, stalls offering a range of cuisine from local restaurants and eateries are on-site; though, food is not included in the ticket price.
Aside from whites and reds, entertainment for the day includes indie band LaVi will keep things upbeat and fresh with their unique sound, and the funky beats of DJ The Suspect will keep the tempo spinning into the early evening. Also, provided the Stormers winning streak continues, the rugby will be screened in the afternoon; alternatively (heaven forbid the Stormers lose), it will be screened in the morning.
In accordance with the “Fashion Forward” theme, visitors are encouraged to dress for the red carpet, an elegant exercise that also qualifies participants a chance at winning some fabulous prizes – such as Sony docking stations, digital cameras and a handycam.
