The Giro del Capo is Africa's premier stage cycle race, one of international level. This year, cyclists from South Africa and all over the world will participate during the 5 day and 600km race.
The Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Giro del Capo is Africa's premier stage cycle race
and has transformed itself into a race of international level. This
year, cyclists from South Africa and all over the world will
participate during this 5 day and 600km race.
The Giro Del Capo takes the cyclists to and through Durbanville, Paarl, Wellington and the Winelands, Bellville in Cape Town, On Signal Hill and to Greenpoint.
Apart from the many South African cyclist teams, many
international teams will gather in Cape Town for the Giro Del Capo. As
for instance the German teams of Wiesenhof (Enrico Poitschke, Jens
Heppner, Ralph Grabsch, David Kopp and Sebastian Siedler) and Lamonta
(Jan Bratkowski, Bjorn Papstein, Holger Sievers, Uwe Hardter and Bjorn
Glasner).
Also participating in the Giro Del Capo is the Danish team
Herning Cykle (Stig Da, Martin Mortensen, Jesper Tranberg, Soren Nissen
and Morten Knudsen), just like the Norwegian team of Sparebanken Vest.
