There are no flowers like those of Darling, exhibited as specimens they would not appeal, but in the veld they carpet the earth with loveliness, and although their reign is of brief duration by reason of their fragility, they have made history in all parts of the world.
Welcome to a beautiful Western Cape village - Darling!
Springtime is the best time of year to visit and see the Sandplain and Renosterveld fynbos landscape come to life in a vibrant and colourful palette.
The village in the Western Cape that is renown for Pieter Dirk Uys’ Evita se Perron and its Wildflower show is more then ready for you.
A hall will be landscaped with Darling wildflowers, from the most fragile and rare flowers of South Africa, to the ones easily found.
Stalls with all sorts of interesting goodies await, while an exhibition tent will showcase all gardening, conservation and landscaping related goods.
There will also be a lecture hall with wine tastings, talks and displays of art. Entry fee includes entry to the landscaped hall and the lecture hall.
At the show you will find stalls, tractor rides to view wildflowers, a beer garden and a wine tent.
