Wine, dine and celebrate Christmas Eve in Cape Town at one of the Mother City’s most well-known hotels, the Mount Nelson. Choose to relax with a family-friendly buffet-style meal at the Oasis Restaurant or opt to be entertained with a more formal dinner at the opulent Planet Restaurant.

Christmas Eve at the Planet Restaurant

Known to have served a number of movie stars, high-powered political players and local celebrities, Planet Restaurant offers a premium fine-dining experience, and this Christmas Eve is no different. Not only will diners be presented with a five-course set menu featuring only the most indulgent dishes, but revellers can also swing the night away to the sultry tunes of jazz singer Haydn Gardener. Though, if you do work up a thirst on the dance floor, simply cool off with some of the restaurant’s delicious cocktails, (drinks are for guests’ own account).

Tickets: Dinner is served at 7pm. Dine in style this Christmas Eve for only R910p/p. This ticket includes a glass of bubbly, festive novelties and the service charge. Do note that there is no children’s menu available.

Christmas Eve at the Oasis Restaurant

Overlooking the Mount Nelson’s sprawling lawn and fertile green garden, Oasis is one of Cape Town’s best-kept secrets. This sanctuary in the heart of the Mother City offers a festive family-friendly buffet-style menu to suit adults and young ones alike. While the starters and desserts can be dished up at will, diners can choose their mains from a set menu.  A cash bar will be available, and waiters will be on hand to take your order.

Tickets: Dinner is served at 7pm. This festive Christmas Eve feast is only R650p/p; children under 12 pay R325p/p. Price includes a glass of bubbly, festive novelties and the service charge.
