The Cape Town Festival is one of the highlights of the year when it comes to art, culture, music, poetry and other performing arts.

One of the festivals that are part of the event is the Cape Town International Performing Arts Festival, from March 7 - 24.

It is a 17-day extravaganza that promotes multi-cultural dance, theatre and other performing arts�including international, national and local productions. The festival utilizes several venues in Cape Town: Artscape, Baxter, Kalk Bay Theatre, On Broadway, Obz Caf�, Distrix Caf�, Intimate Theatre, Masque Theatre, Marimba Restaurant and the Independent Armchair Theatre.

The Cape Town International Performing Arts Festival also provides a very important platform for new performers to breakthrough to bigger audiences.
