6 May 2008 - 9 May 2008
While this event (previously known as the Cape Times V&A Waterfront Wine Festival) has for many years been extremely popular, this year it is to be elevated to an entirely new and exciting level, one at which wine, food and fashion lovers will come together in their mutual love for all things delectable.
"Visit the Wine Routes at the Waterfront" is again the theme at this relaxed and well-organised annual wine and cheese tasting festival held in the vibrant atmosphere of the V&A Waterfront.
The 2008 Cape Times V&A Waterfront Wine Affair – now in its 13th year – represents the entire spectrum of Cape wine producers, from top-notch estates to superb boutique wineries and groundbreaking garagistes (literally, wines made in private garages).
Visitors can tour all the wine routes in one evening at a convenient and secure venue. This year, a total of 95 of the Cape's finest wine estates, producers and wineries will present more than 350 wines for tasting.
Further enhancing this special wine experience is the Gourmet Marquee, where guests can sample and buy boutique cheeses and deli products such as olives, olive oils, oysters, sushi and organic foods.
A feature of the Festival is its intimate and friendly ambience. After an enjoyable tasting, wine lovers can pop out of the marquee and have something to eat at one of the many wonderful Waterfront restaurants conveniently located within easy strolling distance.
