23 May 2007 - 24 May 2007
It's a movable feast as the Cape Gourmet Festival's Grand Gourmet Gallivant, takes place at GrandWest Casino's various eateries in "The District" restaurant and entertainment section.
Join those in the know and ring a circle in your diary without delay for Wednesday, 23 and Thursday 24 May 2007.
Good move! Now... strap on your silliest or most sensible walking-dancing-running shoes, let down your hair, get streetwise, head for the home of sensational gourmet food and toe-tapping live entertainment...we're off gallivanting!
Live out your fantasy of indulging in some of the best things in life... all in one heady evening, or spread out the experience over a couple of days. Unleash your food radar as you hone in on glorious gourmet food, superb wines, live entertainment and faaabulous company... all in the name of one of Cape Town's unmissable May experiences.
Best of all, the experience is entirely unique, with a moveable feast of tastings rather than a set menu at every eatery, coffee shop and corner café as GrandWest serves up the different flavours and cultures from around the globe - be it Indian, Thai or Japanese, pubs, gourmet snacking, dining, coffee or liqueurs - all the while entertained by livewire buskers, comedians, musicians and singers.
Jackson Hall has exotic cocktails prepared by juggling bar tenders and gourmet delectables in store for your arrival, while Wangtha's Asian specialties serve up the best of the east. Bukhara promises an unrivalled spicy trail. Homegrown fresh seafood and shell fish is what the Cape Town Fish Market is all about. Or wolf down a sizzling steak at Squires.
The contrasts are clearly evident, ranging from feasting on homemade pastas and piquantly flavoured sauces at Bella Gina and if there's space left - be sure to indulge in the extravagant coffee and dessert range at the Quarterdeck Restaurant.
It's been ensured that the Grand Gourmet Gallivant pulls out all the stops... and you're invited!
