The Mother City’s boys in red and white take on Durban’s bottom-of-the-log Golden Arrows at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, 9 April 2014 in one of the final three home games of the Absa Premiership season. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
The Western Cape side enters the match hot off a thriller of a 1-0 away victory over the Moroka Swallows and will undoubtedly be looking to give fans something more to cheer about on local turf. The recent conquest broke a four-game winless streak, restored the Urban Warriors to 10th place on the log and started what could be a fiery end to 2013/2014 league play.
On the other hand, the poor, unfortunate Golden Arrows are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak and remain firmly in last position, a solid seven points behind even the 15th place Free State Stars. Needless to say, if the KwaZulu-Natal squad want to stave off relegation and restore some much needed self-belief, they will have to find the back of the net and emerge victorious. So, even if the Backheel Boys seem a less than formidable opponent, fans should nonetheless count on a memorable battle and another great night in the stadium.
