Every Wednesday at Mavericks Revue Bar
Absolute 80’s takes place at The Barnyard Theatre from 7 Sep to 10 Oct and will take you on a fun musical journey centred around a school reunion and your host, the head mistress.
Be prepared for the decade that brought you everything from Boy George to Guns and Roses to the Eurythmics.
The 80’s was the decade of new technology that saw the launching of MTV, the video machine, the fax machine and was the era of capitalism when Thatcher and Reagan ruled the world.
Then there were the movies with the most awesome theme songs like Danger Zone, St Elmos Fire, Take my breath away, Flash Gordon, Xanadu and Ghost Busters and of course let’s not forget that fabulous TV series Dallas, with its dramatic theme song.
When we look back at this exciting decade we also had the shock factor in the pop industry with bands like Guns and Roses with hits like Paradise City and Sweet Child of mine, not to forget the over the top Frankie goes to Hollywood with their supremely controversial Relax!
