Explore the 'ther Cape Winelands & discover the Route 62 wines

The Western Cape is famous for her winelands. While Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek deserve credit but there is more: Route 62!

The Western Cape is famous for her winelands. And while Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek definitely deserve the credit, one has to know that South Africa's wine province has more to offer.

Go for a drive east towards Robertson and see for yourself. This wine area is sheltered by majestic mountains and is part of Route 62, a true paradise for wine lovers. And while you are on the road, don't skip the Nuy Valley, close to Worcester.

This beautiful and unspoilt wine region has, so far, maganed to escape from mass tourism. That doesn't mean, though, that the valley isn't worth visiting. In contrary.

Here one finds many fine wine cellars, cheese and olive farms with a rich history, and some of them even award winning.

Willow Creek for instance. The 18th century farm, traditionally a wine estate, won a coveted Grand Mention Diploma at the Leone d'Oro dei Mastri Oleari olive oil awards in Perugia, Italy. With this the estate in the Nuy Valley put South African olive oil on the map.

Apart from great wine estates the Nuy Valley boastsgorgeous B&B's, guesthouses, splendid hiking trails and much more. And the best thing is: Not too many people know about the many treasures this area hides. This, and much more, make the Nuy Valley a great weekend gettaway.
