Human Rights Day in South Africa falls on 21 March each year and is a time when all South Africans are encouraged to celebrate the rights they have as humans beings.

It acts as a reminder of the great suffering and loss of life that occurred in 1960 at the Sharpeville Massacre.

Now, nearly 50 years later, South Africa has emerged from a shaky history, and although the present day has its fair share of challenges, South Africans are more aware of their rights than they ever have been – and that’s reason to celebrate, so do something special in Cape Town this Human Rights Day!
