It’s close to beaches, the Waterfront, and is central for business & leisure travellers
Ideas Cartel continues its coworking concept with the Old Foundry in Greenpoint, an elegant space less than two kilometres from the V&A Waterfront and close to Table Mountain. It’s central for business, but also allows quick access to entertainment options.
It has 24 spacious and luxurious rooms, an on-site gym, a chic café, swanky members lounge and fully-equipped co-working spaces. This makes it a comfortable and convenient base for travellers looking for a base to work and play.
The hotel oozes old-world charm with modern comforts. Décor is bespoke, some imported from Europe, some dating back to the 1900s. All the modcons are present: smart TVs, a digital concierge and bathroom amenities by Africology. Custom headboards and local art add to the luxury aesthetic and character, and each room has a unique character.
The Cartel Café serves fresh, vibrant and healthy dishes for breakfast and lunch, with an eye to helping business travellers lead a balanced and healthy lifestyle while away from home. Guests can sit indoors or dine al fresco under the shade of an umbrella on the patio.
For those looking for a little more atmosphere, visit Frontier Bar, which serves delicious non-alcoholic drinks at present, while the alcohol ban is in place. The menu offers a range of delicious choices full of local flavour.
For guests staying a little more long-term, there are rooms adapted for this with small and efficient kitchens. However, if you want to take a break for a night, room service is available through the hotel’s app during restaurant opening hours, and for those who prefer to cook in their own space there is also a cleaning service available.
Whether you opt for a pay-as-you-use package or a monthly co-working pass, the flexible co-working spaces are ideal for connecting with like-minded people.
Hot desks, bathroom and shower facilities, communal kitchens, open lounges and meeting rooms are all on offer. In fact, you may just be tempted to make this a more permanent address with a fixed-desk option.
While gyms are now open, there was a time when exercise was near impossible. At The Foundry, the gym is sanitised and safe for guests to use. There are also a variety of workouts and classes hosted by specialised trainers that are held across the three Ideas Cartel hotels that guests can take advantage of.
From a Cityscape Break and City to Coast to a Workation, The Old Foundry Hotel gives guests a choice of bespoke packages to suit their needs and schedules. All include two nights’ accommodation for two people inclusive of breakfast, rooftop cocktails, one of a variety of hosted workouts or training sessions (which are held at one of the three Ideas Cartel hotels), brunch at the Cartel Café, a guided hike up Lion’s Head.
Want to access all this and more? A Cartel Club membership unlocks all the best the Old Foundry has to offer and it’s easy to sign up once you’ve downloaded the app here https://www.ideascartel.com/connect/cartel-connect-online
