Attempt a world record, walk amongst heroes, join a talk in Langa, laugh for 67 minutes + more
Last updated: Monday, 11 July 2022
In the spirit of Madiba and his vision to spread social justice and freedom for all, we’ve rounded up a few events you can support on the public holiday that celebrates him. Stand next to Madiba himself at an exhibition, take on a world record, join an informative talk in Langa and other things to do this Mandela Day.
Bring the whole family to The Twilight Run at Reddam House Constantia. Colourful powder will be thrown over you, so it works best if you are wearing old, white clothes. You are welcome to race the 5km route, or just take it slow and jog, walk (or crawl) to the finish line. Food and drinks will be on sale after the run. All profits raised will be donated to Royal Kids, a non-profit organisation invested in the well-being of children. They supply children with a warm jacket, a new pair of school shoes, socks, and a school shirt in under-resourced communities.
Date: Monday, 18 July 4.45pm - 7pm
Cost: From R67, book here

Date: Sunday to Monday, 17 - 18 July; 9am - 4pm
Cost: R20 per can or R150 for a 67-minute time slot
