First look at Cape Town’s Most Special Luxury Nature Experience
A private, fynbos Heli picnic let’s you get the scenic Cape Point and have Table Mountain to yourself.
Expect the rarest, most special, luxury and carefully curated experiences when Capetownmagazine.com teams with the heli-pilot owners of Cape Town Helicopters.
What would you indulge in to spoil yourself (or your partner) a little. Let’s say money is not really the object. That life isn’t about the opulent or flashy, but about connecting with nature, discovering something unique. Something never to forget.
Well we’re presenting a luxury lunch edulgence that includes a complimentary connection with 7028 species of flora. It’s one of only seven floral kingdoms in the world, and the smallest in size, but largest in varieties. To give you perspective: This lunch setting has more species of flora than the entire United Kingdom.
VIEWS AND MORE VIEWS (AND A HIDDEN VANTAGE POINT)
Catch your helicopter ride from the V&A Waterfront and witness Cape Town from a bird’s perspective as you make your way across the Peninsula. The pilot will land at Baskloof, a fynbos private nature reserve in the hills behind Misty Cliffs. You'll be met by a tour guide, who will lead you on a twenty-minute walk, among fynbos, to the top of the Platberg Mountain, which divides Misty Cliffs and Scarborough. It’s a place very few people get to go to and the view of Misty Cliffs is amazing. If you’re lucky, you might spot a whale in the ocean below.
A SPECIAL GOURMET MEAL
While you’re making your way to the top of Platberg and back, Cape Town Experiences resident chef, Ammy, will prepare your gourmet picnic (made to your request and dietary requirements), pairing it with Cape Point Vineyard Wines. Rest assured that your picnic will be set up in a spot with the best view.
EXPLORE FURTHER OR TAKE A NAP
After your picnic, you have one of two options: continue exploring the nature reserve (keep your eyes on the ground to avoid trampling fynbos) or take a nap on a bean bag provided by Cape Town Helicopters and sleep off the meal and wine pairing before the helicopter whisks you back to the Waterfront.
VIDEO: A UNIQUE LUXURY EXPERIENCE FOR MIND AND HEART
Have a look at this spectacular video of helicopter flights with Cape Town Helicopters and imagine you're actually landing on Table Mountain in a pristine fynbos environment, with a lunch table set and waiting for you (of course all these experiences are carried out entirely within the flora and fauna regulations of the Table Mountain National Park).
WHAT IT’S GOING TO COST?
The trip costsR14 000 per person and includes , flight, picnic treats, drinks and a memory of a lifetime. For an exclusive experience for two it's R28000.
