Woodifields Music on the Map

You never need a reason to visit the Garden route, but just in case!

On Saturday, 2 September 2017, Woodifields Farm in George is debuting their natural amphitheatre to the public for a day of music, sunshine, beer and delectable food. You won’t soon forget this little Garden Route farm, and the musical experience that they are promising to deliver!

The Woodifields Music on the Map event will combine some of our all-time favourite things in one super Saturday spectacular with music, food, beer, and lots of fun!. Local musicians will be taking to the  stage,strumming their guitars, blowing their trumpets, tinging their triangles, and just generally strutting their stuff in delight of the audience. There will be plenty of food vendors catering to every taste and preference at the event – everything from burgers to pizza, dim sum, curry and more.

For those of you that were paying attention, you’ll have noticed that I haven’t mentioned the beer yet! Music on the Map will be serving  some sensational local craft beers, all in one tent! You can take a craft beer tour of the Garden Route –being 100% sure that all the beer will be of sensational quality, without leaving the farm.

Interestingly, the Woodifileds farm has a long and dynamic history: it was first granted as a loan from the Dutch East India Company in 1777. Back then it was named Pampoenkraal (“pumpkin village”). It passed through hands and families and eventually ended up with Bruce Jackson, the current owner of the farm. Under Jackson’s guidance many changes have been made to the farm over the years, one of them being the cultivation and creation of a natural amphitheatre, which is the venue for the Music on the Map celebration!
