Your Saturday mornings are about to get so much better. No need to get up early. In fact, sleep in. You deserve it. Just make sure you book one of only 30 seats at Grub & Vine’s Brunch Club, which takes place every Saturday between 11:30am and 2:30pm at their bustling Bree Street bistro.
If you’re not yet a fan of the social dining guru, Chef Matt Manning, you soon will be. This is one chef who knows how to bring people together in celebration of great food, wine and a relaxed ambience. And what better way to be introduced to his interactive style of dining than with Grub & Vine’s Saturday Brunch Club, which serves up your choice of a two-, three- or five-course meal between the very leisurely hours of 11:30am to 2:30pm.
The Brunch Club only caters for 30 guests, so the atmosphere is very laid-back and intimate. Kind of like dining at home, but with a better chef in the kitchen – one who really knows how to layer ingredients and flavours and pair textures with colours. The food is bistro meets refined dining. So expect fresh, local seasonal ingredients that bring a range of poached, steamed and char-grilled flavours to the plate.
The food is well paired to the venue, with its elegant modern decor and bustling bistro atmosphere. Nothing fussy or fancy, just cool and contemporary, like the Bree street ambience.
The Brunch Club kickstarts with a Bloody Mary on arrival and offers a bottomless bubbly option at R250pp. Arrive early so you can fully appreciate the art of the slow, leisurely Saturday brunch as it unfolds, course by course.
