Sundays are for family and food, and Café Extrablatt is where the two meet. Every weekend the café serves a bottomless buffet, including waffles, omelettes, cheese spreads and good ol’ bacon. The café is open 365 days a year, so this brunch could be your new Sunday tradition. Plus, there’s a colourful kids’ corner, too.

The café is just a 2 minute walk from Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. The building is two stories and has two balconies, and the sun seeps into the space, making it warm and cosy. There are enough seating options, whether you’re a big group or need a small nook.

The Sunday brunch buffet is bursting with food options for the whole family and is a great deal. It includes cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, salads, omelettes and even warm waffles. Owner Guido Dierschke recommends adding a bit of Nutella on the waffle… and we agree. Brunch is from 9am to 2pm, so there’s no reason to rush.

At the back of the café is the colourful kids’ corner, with a punchy superhero mural. Kids can get their Picasso on and draw on the blackboards with chalk, or play with the available toys or read books.

Sunday buffet is available: Sundays, 9am - 2pm
Café Extrablatt is open: Sunday to Thursday, 9am - 1am; Fridays - Saturdays, 9am - 2am
