The Vintage Shopping Expo in Cape Town
Browse retro clothing and accessories from a bygone era at this vintage lover’s paradise in the Mother City
The lovely ladies behind The Vintage Experience (TVE) invite lovers of old-school clothes, music and accessories to shop ‘til they drop at the third Vintage Shopping Expo at The German Club in Gardens on Saturday, 9 April 2016.
It’s no secret that Capetonians love vintage almost as much as they do the beloved mountain, so organisers launched the event to bring the people what they want: a showcase jam-packed with retro exhibitors from across the Western Cape. That way, fashionistas don’t have to scrounge through their family’s mothball-riddled closets, but can rather have experts do the curating for them.
There will be two sessions on the day itself, the first running from 10am to 3pm which will boast vintage fashion finds and family-friendly entertainment. The second session, running from 5pm to 10pm, will have vendors of retro and funky knick-knacks, fashion items, vinyls and more. Also, the dial on the entertainment will be turned right up. The musical line-up is yet to be announced so stay tuned!
This shopaholic’s dream has everything from classic vintage fashions and bargain thrift pieces to funky trinkets and antique home décor. What’s more, if you’re a lover of old-school music, you can check out the great range of vinyl records on offer.
The expo will also have a selection of some of the Mother City’s favourite food vendors, and attendees can pick up something to drink (including wine and German beer) from the venue's two on–site bars.
