Spar Hot Summer of Touch Tournament

Western Cape's Beach “Pro-Series” is coming to a beach near you!

It’s SPAR Hot Summer of Touch time again and 2009 will be bigger and better than ever before.

The highly successful series has been restructured this year to try and enhance player enjoyment with 2 separate competition sections taking place.

The “Pro-Series” will see the top 8 beach teams in the country compete against each other, while the traditional “Open Tournament” will be just that, open to the public and encouraging literally everyone who can throw a Rugby ball, to come and compete for awesome prizes without the fear of losing to the Pro’s...

The added bonus for the winners and runners up in the “Open Tournament” is that they will get to join the Quarter Finals of the Pro Series, giving them the opportunity to test themselves against the best of the best!

With the chance of competing on an even keel, the “prize pool” - valued at an unprecedented R175 000 - and the usual fun and games will be lead by KFM Surf Guru Deon Bing, the organisers are anticipating record numbers of teams and spectators coming to the beaches this year.
