Something New: Invent Your Own Gin at Nom Nom
All-new DIY gin bar, PLUS: double your wine every Wednesday
Local-made speciality gins. Sweets and sours. Insta-worthy infusions. And carte blanche to come and design your own new favourite cocktail in the relaxed upstairs section of the original Nom Nom on Main Road in Somerset West.
“We’ve taken special care to have every single ingredient on our DIY gin menu perfectly balanced with each other. So no matter what combination you choose, you’ll always get flavours that complement and enhance each other,” says manager Sebastian Smith about Nom Nom’s new gin bar.
NEW DIY GIN BAR: MAKE YOUR OWN
From Musgrave Pink Gin to Clemengold and Inverroche, Nom Nom has sourced only the finest gins for you to choose from. You create your own drink with a double shot of gin as your base. Complemented by a choice of sweet and sour cordials of your choice. Your choice of fresh fruit juice makes up the body. And then there’s a range of infusion-perfect botanicals and garnishes to choose from.
You’re invited to be as creative as you like. All the gin bar menu items are perfectly balanced, so you can’t go wrong.
NOM NOM GIN BAR: WHEN AND HOW MUCH?
The DIY Gin Bar is open every day from 10am–10pm at the upstairs Nom Nom wine bar – a great spot to entertain a few friends or spend a relaxing afternoon before dinner.
Gins are R85 per drink. And there’s a special Nom Nom light nibbles menu available, with scrummy eats ranging R50–R100, if you’re feeling peckish.
PLUS: DOUBLE YOUR WINE ON WEDNESDAYS
If you have friends who rather prefer wine, come on a Wednesday. Nom Nom’s Love Wine Wednesdays gives you two carafes of wine for the price of one. Buy any carafe of 2015 Matilda’s Secret Red or Benguela Cove Semillon/ Sauvignon, and get the second carafe free.
Also available 10am–10pm, this one is on Wednesdays only. An excellent opportunity to get together with a few friends (whether they prefer gin or wine). Or a good reason to come and try the Nom Nom lunch and dinner menu, offering treats from daily pot pies or ostrich bobotie to braised pork belly and lamb rump skillet. All of which go down perfectly with a good wine or your own personal new gin cocktail.
And you’re always welcome. Nom Nom proudly upholds its policy of “no reservations necessary”. So pop in when you feel like it.
