Mama City Improv Festival
The Mother City is where it’s at for Improv Comedy
Let these improv masters tickle your funny bone with four nights and five days of laughter at the annual Mama City Improv Fest at the Magnet Theatre in Observatory, from Wednesday 31 October to Sunday 4 November 2018.
Improv is a form of comedic theatre that is unscripted, happenning in the moment. Improvisers are given a word or situation from the audience that serves as inspiration for scenes then made up on-the-spot. The most important rule in improv is "SAY YES’"– with actors carrying out the story by going along with whatever their cast members are doing.
INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL ARTISTS
The Mama City Improv Festival has secured some big names for the 2018 Festival. This award-winning duo will take you on a mischief-filled ride – sharing their clever view of the world. Champagne Boyfriend (Canada), The Long Shots (Cape Town), ImproGuise (Cape Town), The 2nd Liners (Cape Town), and Mmankokosana Playback Theatre (Joburg) are some of the other players taking part in the festival.
