Maker’s Landing, the Waterfront’s community for lovers of local food
Spit braais, live bands, cooking classes + more in December
Makers Landing, born to be an incubator for budding chefs, has matured into the go-to hub for locals thirsting for real South African food and culture. They come for the mogodu at Pitso’s Kitchen, Faieez’s koesisters, Spitbraai Sundays and the confectionery creations from Sweet LionHeart. Parents love the enthralling cooking demos for kids. And there’s still the cherry on top: Parking is free for the first 3 hours. Here’s what’s happening over Christmas at Makers Landing.

TRY THE CHEF’S NEW SUMMER MENUS
If you’re not making the food, settle in for the experience. From gin tastings at Pienaar & Sons, shisanyama at Pitso’s, to koesisters and salomies at Fuzzy’s and braaibroodjies at Mosi Smokehouse.
There’s curries and cane juice at Charm’s Kitchen and Ayurveda in a bowl at Indikaap. Conscious Meat Merchants, who are loved for their ethically-reared and halaal meat, have the Seaside Breakfast menu, and there’s everyone's favourite, the Sunday spitbraais at Ukhamba Beerworx on the rooftop. The festive season is really the perfect opportunity to see why Makers Landing is one of the Cape’s most authentic food and cultural hubs.
