Kids’ Art And Musical Talents to Raise Funds For Underprivileged Children of Tygerberg

Song to art, these kids are making a difference in underprivileged children's lives

The Tygerberg Children’s Choir will be entertaining crowds once again with their annual benefit gala in association with the Hugo Lambrechts Symphony Orchestra, raising funds for underprivileged children in the Tygerberg area on Saturday, 12 May, from 7pm to 10pm.

Conductors Hennie Loock and Liam Burden will be leading the choir through the night, with guest appearances by opera singers Vasti Knoesen and Riaan Hunter, and clarinet student Keon Müller.

Those who attended last year will know these talented kids aren't your average choir; the Tygerberg Children's Choir was crowned World Champions twice at the 6th World Choir Games in Shaoxing, China in July 2010. The choir also won the Music of the Religions and Folklore open categories against much older choirs.

The talented kids of the Tygerberg Art Centre have also produced art to be exhibited for auction from 12 May until 2 June, in order to raise awareness for Child Protection Week.

All sales proceeds from the exhibition at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre in Parow will go towards the Badisa Tygerberg Children’s Fund.
